Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma
Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma has joined PHPA-I on 27.10.2025 as a Director (Technical) on deputation from Central Water Commission (CWC), GoI, India. Mr. Sharma has done his B. Tech (Civil) and M. Tech (Structure) from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India. Prior to his joining PHPA, Mr Sharma was posted as Director in E & NE Design unit of Design and Research Wing, CWC having jurisdiction of East and Northeast region of India as well as Bhutan. Prior to joining CWC he was SDE in Haryana Irrigation Department and was part of Hathnikund Barrage construction team.
He has rich experience in various aspects of water resources engineering viz Investigation, DPR Preparation, Construction and Operation of river valley projects. In CWC he has been posted in various design directorates looking after Hydel Civil Design, Hydromechanical Design, Barrage and Canal Design, Embankment Design and Concrete and Masonry Dam Design. He has also dealt with Policy & Planning issues including issues related to Hydroelectric Projects at Ministry of Jal shakti, Govt of India as Senior Joint commissioner (Policy and Planning), where he also handled the administrative issues of six organisations under MoJS (i.e. NWDA, NCA, TB etc.)
He has also been closely associated with National Dam Safety Organization (an apex organization constituted under Dam Safety Act, 2021 in India) as Director and also as design expert in various committees constituted regarding GLOF Incident of October 2023 in Teesta Basin; Lower Subansiri HEP 2000 MW, Assam / AP; Kaleshawaram Project, Telengana etc.
