Mr. Manish Gupta

Passionate and experienced hydropower professional with over 27 years of expertise in Design and execution of hydro power projects in NHPC across the country and abroad.

Mr. Manish Gupta has joined PHPA-II as a Director (Technical) on May 08, 2026 on deputation from NHPC Limited, a Navratna Enterprise under Ministry of Power, Govt of India. He has more than 27 years of extensive experience in the field of design, construction and operation of large-scale hydroelectric projects.

Mr. Gupta has done his B.E.(Elect.) degree from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and an MBA degree in Project Management. Prior to joining PHPA-II, Mr. Gupta was posted as General Manager at NHPC Corporate Office looking after work of Operation and Maintenance of NHPC Power Stations.

He has vast onsite experience in construction of hydropower projects at 2880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh, 330 MW Kisanganga Project in Jammu & Kashmir, 720 MW Mangdechhu Project in Bhutan, 120 MW SEWA-II Project in Jammu & Kashmir, 800 MW Parbati-II Project in Himachal Pradesh.

He has rich experience in Design & Engineering of E&M works which includes Project Appraisals, Planning, Detailed design of Electromechanical equipment, site support activities for problem resolution and also associated with various domestic & overseas consultancy assignments undertaken by NHPC Ltd.
